Contra Costa Regional Medical Center is offering an excellent career opportunity for a Nursing Program Manager. The current vacancies are in the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and the Martinez Detention Facilities located in Martinez and Richmond, CA.

The Nursing Program Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating patient care for an assigned department and is responsible for designing and implementing policies to achieve and maintain goals that ensure the delivery of quality patient care and service excellence. Other responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, orienting and evaluating staff; planning, preparing, monitoring and controlling budgetary recommendations for personnel, operational and capital equipment expenditures for assigned departments. Additionally, incumbents are also responsible for the development of a department quality improvement plan as well as the on-going management and support of inter- and intra-hospital Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Programs.

Minimum qualifications throughout the duration of employment include: a current, valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. For positions assigned to Hospital, Clinics and Detention, a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) is required.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in nursing, hospital or health care administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, one (1) year of which must have been as a Charge Nurse, Head Nurse or in a similar supervisory capacity; or three (3) years of full-time experience or its equivalent as a Registered Nurse in a community mental health system, one (1) year of which must have been as a Charge Nurse, Head Nurse or in a similar supervisory capacity.

Substitution: Two (2) additional years of experience as a Charge Nurse or Head Nurse may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
